Hello Everyone.
Has anyone heard about Jim and Pat Searles Verbeek Centenary organ being fitted in to a new trailer? There is a photograph of it on the other forum it is a lot bigger. I was speaking to Jim Searle last week and he said they are still in the progress of it but it looks finished to me, apart from the 2 top panels either side of the fibre glass mermaids which still need to be fitted. It should be great at Dorset this year. I am making the very long journey to see it next year in Nottingham, I have not seen it for over 8 years now so it should be a exciting experience for me.

Hi Robert,
I can remember when the late Tom Varley first got the organ, there was also a lot of excitment then at his Gisburn premisis.A lot of the members who were about then have now sadly all passed on to that great organ festival in the sky.I can remember one book that has always stuck in my mind "1812 Overture."A great arrangment by Tom Meger (I hope that is spelt right)the kettle drum sounded magnificent on it all that was missing was the cannons.I am truly amazed that Mr Searle has decided to transfer the organ into a new trailer as I thought it sounde and looked ok as it was.Having seen the organ recently it seems as though it has changed a lot,the distinctive sound has gone what a shame.

Hi Ben,
Sound effects (guns)so has this organ got real live guns .Will have to be careful if I ever pass it on the rally field then.I do not think that guns are included in the recording but I will have a listen to the c.d.as a friend of mine has it.

Hi Nick,
The gun(s) ect.. sound effect on was added to the recording by Bill Walker who made the the recordings for Centerany Verbeeck Plays series of CD's. The organ doesn't have any live guns on it.
I hope this info helps,
