This years Smallwood rally near Sandbach in Cheshire was held over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The predicted bad weather took over the whole of Sunday.
This has become a large event, although it was felt that maybe the organisers had spread things a bit too thin and diluted the atmosphere of the event.
The only four organs were:
Frank Heaton's Royal Bruder
George Houghton's Pell 'The Piper'
Gary Hall's Pell 'The Swinging Sisters'
...and Gary Hall with his handturned
Although this model Limonaire is a good 'match' (sorry about that one!)
Mr Bennion (centre) used to build organs, but he has now moved to miniature steam!
A good selection of steam keeps the visitors enthusiastic
Smallwood always has an impressive stationary engine lineup
The motorcycle section
The commercial section
Just in case you were lost!
The car section
A good selection of tractors always grace the Smallwood event
The Military vehicle section...wow!
The Awning displays
The Autojumble had the usual array of...interesting items!
The Model Marquee
Even the fuel prices are vintage!
The Sunday bad weather duly arrived!
The Smallwood rally provides seating for the arena...I don't think that there will be many takers today!
...Well...there's always one optimist!
It was windy as well!
I think a caption competition would be in order for this one!
And as if by magic...after all that lousy weather, we had a glorious sunset!
The Heavy Horse Tour bus!
The Monday weather improved sufficiently to bring in a few punters!
Smallwood only has an unusually small fairground
A fleet of tractors were on standby to pull exhibitors off site
I don't think that the weather was much better for any other event over the weekend...unless you know better?
Regards,
Dave Stubbs, warmed up at last! |
